Who Are You?

We are on the lookout for dedicated Pastry Chef candidates who will embrace this mission and join our talented culinary team. Ideal candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant culinary experience, particularly in crafting desserts, baking, and cooking in high-volume settings. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to adhere to recipes and systems while showcasing professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to teamwork.

COMPENSATION:

$20-$22 per hour

REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial but not mandatory.
Culinary education is preferred.
A minimum of two years' experience in a similar role is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to stand for extended periods.
Must be capable of lifting at least 40 pounds.
Ability to perform all job functions while adhering to uniform standards, including appropriate footwear.
Professional and effective communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Consult with the supervisor regarding the prep schedule for the shift.
  2. Utilize a recipe book for batch, process, and portion preparation.
  3. Review recipes prior to starting work.
  4. Accurately weigh and measure all ingredients.
  5. Chill hot recipes in an ice bath before storage and ensure proper storage practices.
  6. Promptly refrigerate all prepared items.
  7. Maintain cleanliness throughout the preparation process.
  8. Use clean food storage containers consistently.
  9. Label and rotate products appropriately.
  10. Take responsibility for the freshness and quality of prepared items.
  11. Adhere to sanitation and safety protocols.
  12. Check with the supervisor regarding the condition of prepared items and cleanliness of the prep area.
  13. Achieve a passing score of 90% or higher on all general and departmental assessments.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chef/Sous Chef.
  15. Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.
  16. Foster a spirit of teamwork in all activities.
  17. Complete other related tasks as directed by the Leadership Team.
