Medical Assistant, Clinical Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Lowell General Hospital. This role is responsible for providing high-quality medical support services to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities- Prepare patient rooms and escort patients to examination areas, taking vital signs and documenting patient information as needed.
- Assist physicians with procedures, educate patients on specimen collection, and perform clerical or administrative duties in support of clinical operations.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for patients and families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, internal and external customers, exercising excellent customer service skills.
- Monitor patient flow, respond to variations in patient volume, provider availability, and resources, making adjustments to room utilization and assignment as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant National Certification Attestation from a governing body (AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within three months of hire.
- 0-2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.
- Two years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Bilingual candidates welcome.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems an asset.
This role requires occasional lifting of 30-35 pounds and turning of patients, prolonged standing and walking, occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting, and exposure to infectious disease and possible carcinogenic chemicals.
Salary InformationThe estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
