We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN Pedi CVICU to join our team at Methodist Children's Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in our Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN Pedi CVICU will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless communication among healthcare professionals. You will also be responsible for managing staff schedules, inventory control, and supplies, as well as providing recommendations for interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse Texas license or Compact State license required.
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
  • 2 years Pedi Cardiac ICU/CVICU acute care hospital nursing experience or Critical Care (ICU) experience.
