Oncology Nurse Specialist

At HexaQuEST Health, Inc., we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Infusion Nurse to join our team.
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Acute Care Services Manager, this role will provide professional outpatient IV therapies and injections, and coordinate the delivery of oncology treatments to assigned patients in a medical facility.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care for specified patients, including appropriate supportive care and administration of chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Perform nursing assessments and triage of patient care needs for new and ongoing patients.
- Provide education to patients, families, and significant others.
The RN Therapeutic Infusion Nurse reports directly to the Acute Care Services Manager.
Qualifications- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and current Colorado RN license.
- Must have documentation of current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association, or must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Current Chemotherapy certification, or must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
Previous experience in caring for chronic disease patients is preferred. Previous experience with mobilizing community resources, navigating patients through the healthcare continuum, and working with disparate populations is also preferred.
Skills- Knowledge of oncology treatment procedures, facilities, and equipment.
- Knowledge of supportive care principles and techniques for oncology patients.
- Knowledge of the nature and treatments of oncological disease and of reactions and side effects of related therapy methods.
- Ability to educate patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment.
Scheduled shift of Monday-Friday, 40 hours per work week.
