Overview


US Oncology, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Full-time Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to become part of our team. This role will be pivotal in providing exceptional care to our patients.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a work-life balance with no weekends, on-call duties, or major holiday shifts.

This position can be classified as Level 1, 2, or Senior, depending on the relevant experience of the candidate.

Role of the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)


Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) delivers professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.

The RN must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of care and engage in company-wide quality initiatives. Compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care in line with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the supervision of a physician.
  • Administer medications and blood products accurately, ensuring correct dosage, route, timing, and technique.
  • Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are secured prior to therapy administration where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patients, reviewing lab results, consulting treatment protocols, calculating doses, and discussing modifications with the physician.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain precise documentation of patient care and treatments administered.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position will possess the following qualifications:

Level 1:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 0-3 years of nursing experience.
  • Infusion experience is preferred.

Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements):

  • 3-5 years of nursing experience.
Senior Level (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements):

  • Five years of nursing experience.
