The Vehicle Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the Builders FirstSource fleet, ensuring all vehicles operate efficiently and safely.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential duties include but are not limited to:
- Analyzing job orders and observing vehicle operations to identify issues and strategize repair methods.
- Installing ignition systems, aligning front wheels, replacing batteries, and handling transmissions and other components.
- Overhauling both gas and diesel engines to restore optimal performance.
- Inspecting safety features, including protective guards and loose bolts, and making necessary adjustments.
- Lubricating moving parts and driving repaired vehicles to confirm they meet specifications.
- Creating specialized lifting or towing equipment, hydraulic systems, and other devices based on technical drawings.
This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
