Position Summary:

This role demands a meticulous individual who can operate autonomously while exhibiting strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate across various departments. Effective communication skills are vital.

Responsibilities:

The warehouse forklift specialist will be tasked with preparing and staging shipments. This includes receiving raw materials and ensuring they are stored correctly, as well as maintaining cleanliness within the warehouse.

The specialist will conduct daily visual inspections to identify any damaged materials and report findings to the supervisor. It is crucial to ensure that trucks are properly secured and chocked. Prior to loading, the specialist will inspect trailers, take photographs, and apply necessary safety locks. Additional photographs will be required post-loading.

Daily inspections of lift equipment are mandatory, and the specialist must complete and submit the inspection forms. Maintaining cleanliness is also part of the role, which involves sweeping, dusting, and emptying garbage containers in designated areas. The exterior docks must be kept clean to prevent debris from entering drainage systems.

The specialist will organize inventory by item number and adhere to FIFO (First In, First Out) shipping practices. Utilizing RF guns for staging and shipping finished goods is required, as well as transferring pallets to various lanes. Specific procedures apply to parent rolls that do not involve RF gun usage.

Pulp receiving occurs daily, necessitating the unloading and staging of materials in designated areas. The appropriate grades of pulp must be organized on the dock for daily use.

Key Functions:

  1. Foster a positive and safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
  2. Ensure all shipped items are accurate, undamaged, and free from contamination.
  3. Conduct thorough inspections of trailers, ensuring they are locked and secured.
  4. Maintain an organized and clean warehouse environment.
  5. Perform daily inspections and maintenance on lift equipment.
  6. Conduct quality inspections of raw materials and chemicals, documenting findings and reporting any discrepancies to management.
