Position Overview:
Engage in the design and execution of research focused on host-pathogen dynamics while receiving specialized training from a designated Principal Investigator, aimed at developing professional competencies and research autonomy essential for advancing your career.
Utilizing biochemical and genetic methodologies, alongside relevant tissue culture and murine infection models, the research will investigate the impact of protease virulence factors on the disease process and immune recognition of Streptococcus and other significant pathogens.
Innovate and propose new concepts that enhance ongoing research initiatives. Prepare and submit scientific publications under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. May oversee the operation of specific laboratory equipment. This role is a temporary appointment as a research trainee. The Research Scientist position is an entry-level role where the research fellow receives mentorship under the close supervision of faculty within the Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Microbiology and Immunology.Qualifications:
A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS, etc.) in a relevant field. Exceptional scientific writing skills and strong verbal communication abilities. Capacity to collaborate effectively and collegially with peers. Additional qualifications as determined by the Principal Investigator.
