Leave Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Leave Administrator to join our team at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the support for all leave of absence cases and workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and administer leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable laws, including FMLA, ADA, and USERRA.
- Manage all aspects of leave and workers' compensation programs, including tracking hours used/taken and working closely with HRIS, Workers Comp third party administrator (TPA), and Payroll.
- Provide extensive case management and coordinate administrative aspects of cases and claims.
- Liaise with managers to find alternate work arrangements or Fit for Duty liaison.
- Educate and inform employees regarding workers compensation process and their rights.
- Coach and counsel Department Leaders and department chairs regarding their role in the workers compensation process.
- Develop and conduct workshops and education sessions regarding the leave process.
- Manage the interactive process for ADA reasonable accommodation requests.
- Maintain appropriate contact with all associates on leave and coordinate all aspects of return to work for associates on leave.
- Assist with managing STD/LTD programs and vendor relationships.
- Strong PC skills with demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Outlook, and Internet.
- Comprehensive understanding of FMLA, Worker's Compensation, and benefit policies and administration.
- Ability to demonstrate effective time management skills, with ability to meet deadlines, and to manage assigned projects/tasks from initiation to completion.
- Independent judgment and thinking; demonstrates initiative, strong verbal and written communication skills; and exhibits professionalism in dealing with others.
- Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management.
- Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Minimum Associate degree.
- Four-year degree preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Extensive use of computer keyboard. Able to lift without restriction and use proper body mechanics, sits for extended periods of time.
