We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team at Danone. As a Senior Environmental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to develop and implement safety training programs.
  • Manage and analyze EHS metrics and reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Lead and participate in EHS projects to support energy conservation, best practices, lean, and six-sigma initiatives.
  • Chair safety committees and design and implement safety awareness programs.
  • Conduct and mentor employees in behavior-based safety observations.
  • Establish and lead emergency response and evacuation planning.
  • Lead and train others on job safety analysis and risk assessments.
  • Create and deliver EHS training programs. Serve as a Train the Trainer.
  • Assist with management of EHS recordkeeping.
  • Lead creation and deployment of site-level EHS communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of EHS experience in industry.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and ability to mentor and motivate.
  • Team player with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to assess and implement EHS best practices.
  • Excellent organization, recordkeeping, and documentation skills.
  • Solid computer skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Management of multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Interface closely with all levels of the plant and Corporate EHS.
