Role Overview:

The Certified Pharmacy Technician Specialist plays a crucial role in executing routine functions within the unit dose distribution system, sterile compounding, and the outpatient prescription service. This position is integral to departmental quality initiatives, process enhancements, and thorough documentation practices. The technician aids in the accurate capture of medication charges and credits. Collaboration with Clinical Staff Pharmacists and the Technician Supervisor is essential to ensure seamless operations. The technician is expected to work closely with pharmacy administrative personnel and all team members to achieve departmental goals.

Qualifications / Education:

Mandatory certification from PTCB as a Pharmacy Technician in TN

High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred

Preferred experience includes at least 1 year in a pharmacy setting
