Position Overview: The role of a Speech Language Pathology Assistant involves delivering coordinated speech therapy to individuals across various age groups under the guidance of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the speech therapy treatment plan as designed by the supervising SLP.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to engage with families, SLPs, and staff.
  • Participate in IEP meetings as necessary and perform clerical and scheduling tasks.
  • Document student progress, including targeted skills and the type/amount of support provided, and conduct screenings for SLP interpretation.
  • Create and execute activities and materials to teach and practice skills aligned with student goals, as per the supervising SLP's plan.
  • Deliver therapy through various service models, including teletherapy, in-person sessions, individual, and group therapy.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and facilitate their use among team members to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and competency.
  • Promote the agency's philosophy and policies to ensure quality care.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience in pediatric and/or school-based settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-driven with excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of therapy practices as per accepted standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Responsive to requests and reliable transportation.
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution.
  • Current active state license to practice speech therapy in the relevant state.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must meet vaccination requirements of partnered school districts.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, pull, push, stoop, stretch, and lift as needed.
  • Requires manual dexterity for operating equipment.
Working Environment:
  • Must possess a personal computer with teleconferencing capabilities.
