Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Vehicle Service Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our Fleet Services team, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining our university's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in excellent condition for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of vehicles, including washing, vacuuming, and cleaning windows
  • Supply state vehicles with fuel and fluids, and report any damage or repairs
  • Keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance and issue reports
  • Assist with light custodial duties and snow/frost removal from vehicles and parking lot

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work with cleaning agents and be exposed to fumes, chemicals, and moderate levels of dust and/or noise
  • Ability to perform extended hours of physical activity, including standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and squatting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in automotive detailing or routine vehicle maintenance
  • Record-keeping experience
  • Previous experience working with a large fleet of vehicles or in a university setting
  • Customer service experience and ability to work as part of a team
