Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Active Attack Training Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs to law enforcement agencies, schools, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training programs on active attack response, including ALERRT, FRM, ERASE, AAIR, SORD, Low Light, Breaching, and CRCC.
  • Assist in the development of training materials, guidance, and resources for various constituencies.
  • Provide logistical support for training programs, including site setup and review.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training programs meet the needs of law enforcement agencies and the community.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest training methods and technologies to ensure our training programs are current and effective.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in law enforcement, fire, or EMS at a local or state agency, or considerable medical experience under a Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) during federal military service.
  • Experience in Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) or its various disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering first responder or community-focused training to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Experience in incident command system (ICS).
  • Extensive knowledge of the functions and structures of law enforcement agencies and public school divisions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/G-Suite and internet software.
  • Ability to think strategically and cross-culturally, and independently implement new initiatives and projects.
  • Ability to articulate clear and concise program objectives and goals, and summarize achievements in reports and other documents.
  • Documented experience working as an active, contributing team member, and an independent and self-motivated employee.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines, handle multiple assignments, changing priorities, and ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current instructor certification and experience delivering ALERRT in various disciplines.
  • Current instructor certification and experience delivering Stop the Bleed.
  • Extensive experience as a state or local law enforcement officer in responding to critical incidents.
  • Experience as a DCJS General Instructor.
  • Experience as a DCJS Firearms Instructor.
  • Experience as a SWAT team member.

What We Offer:

The Commonwealth of Virginia offers a competitive salary range of $35 to $45 per hour, up to 29 hours per week (1500 hours per wage year). We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
