Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Scientist to join our In Silico Proteins team within the Therapeutics Discovery organization at Johnson & Johnson. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing computational approaches to accelerate and enhance the discovery of protein-based therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement computational models for hit identification and optimization of lead protein therapeutics.
  • Design and implement machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to predict protein structure and attributes.
  • Leverage commercial modeling software and predictive tools to mitigate protein liabilities and advance candidate therapeutics.
  • Work with high-performance computing, cloud-based, and GPU-accelerated compute platforms to optimize computational workflows.
  • Communicate complex computational concepts effectively to non-expert audiences.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field with at least 3 years of experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical sector.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Strong statistical understanding of advanced topics in machine learning and artificial intelligence applied to modeling protein structure and attributes.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage commercial modeling software and predictive tools for mitigating protein liabilities.
  • Direct experience with HPC, cloud-based, and GPU-accelerated compute platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
