The HIM Manager at Knapp Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and implementation of department activities, ensuring the maintenance of hospital medical records while promoting continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to maintain accurate and compliant medical records
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and data management
- Monitor and analyze departmental performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Lead and manage a team of health information professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals
Requirements:
- Minimum two years of HIM management/supervisory experience
- Successful completion of college-level courses in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding
- ICD and CPT knowledge
- Successful completion of an education program for Registered Health Information Technician (R.H.I.T.) or Registered Health Information Administrator (R.H.I.A.)
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a related field (preferred)
