Job Description

Savino Del Bene, a leading global freight forwarding company, is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Filing of entry/entry summaries, customer contact, electronic PGA, prior notification, electronic FCC, USDA, TSCA billing, RLF filing across the country.
  • Providing HTS to clients, ISF filing, providing clients with air and ocean import freight quotes, researching for new clients, ensuring files are in compliance.
  • Classifying all goods being imported and requesting or compiling the necessary documentation, including cargo-control papers, customs invoices, and certificates of origin.
  • Arranging for the transportation and storage of goods that have cleared customs brokers only filing.
  • Communicating with the customer service team for proper documentation.
  • Monitoring all processes and ensuring compliance to all Federal regulations and custom duties.
  • Coordinating with various departments and maintaining compliance to all import operations.
  • Preparing required documents and procedures according to company standards and ensuring compliance to service requirements.
  • Ensuring that freight paperwork are completed and approved before transportation.
  • Maintaining knowledge on all industry rules and regulations and performing all custom duties.
  • Upholding a strong and professional relationship with transportation agencies and sales.
  • Demonstrating an emphasis on customer satisfaction per company policy.
  • Maintaining shipment files and ensuring billing is completed within a timely fashion.
  • Assisting as backup for alternate accounts.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work on site, this is not a remote position.
  • Expected to maintain conformance to ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 integrated management systems.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years Brokerage experience.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced PC skills - MS Office.
  • Highly organized.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Displays a flexible and open-minded willingness to adapt to new environments and be a team player.
  • Must have good ethical standards.
