Faculty Position Announcement

We invite applications for a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of English position at the University of the District of Columbia Community College.

About the Position

This is a full-time 9-month position, with a competitive salary range estimated between $100,000 and $140,000 based on rank and experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching various English courses, including developmental writing, and providing advisement to students.

Major Responsibilities
  • Teach English courses, including developmental writing, to students at the University of the District of Columbia Community College.
  • Assist with student recruitment, advising, and retention efforts.
  • Engage in scholarly activities and community service.
  • Conduct virtual or in-person office hours per week over a five-day week or the equivalent.
  • Participate in professional development workshops to become certified to teach online and to build online courses.
Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have a Master's degree in English or Education with concentration in English from a regionally accredited institution. A minimum of two years of full-time teaching in a post-secondary institution, community college teaching is preferred.

Selectee will be eligible for health and life insurance, sick leave, and will be covered under the University of the District of Columbia's retirement plan (TIAA-CREF).
