University of the District of Columbia Nursing Faculty Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Nursing Educator to join our faculty team at the University of the District of Columbia. This is a part-time, temporary position.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will teach courses in Medical-Surgical Nursing care, assess student technical and clinical competencies, and submit data related to course performance. The incumbent must have recent clinical and teaching experience, as well as a Master's Degree in Nursing with a clinical focus in Maternal Newborn/Pediatric Nursing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide laboratory and clinical instruction to students
  • Teach assigned clinical courses as specified in the schedule and course contract
  • Recruit, advise, and assist with student retention; respond to student inquiries in a timely manner
  • Engage in scholarly activities and community services
  • Teach clinical courses during the day, evening, and/or weekend; may include multiple campus sites
  • Attend all meetings, ceremonies, and official functions as specified by the Chief Academic Officer, Chief Community College Officer, and/or Dean
  • Adhere to and fulfill ACEN standards; assist in developing effective means of assessing student learning outcomes
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Nursing with a clinical focus in Maternal Newborn/Pediatric Nursing required
  • Registered or eligible for license in the District of Columbia
  • Recent clinical and teaching experience required
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per yearBenefits:

This position is ineligible for benefits due to its temporary nature. However, it may be eligible for representation and require payment of union fees through direct payroll deduction.
