Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities. This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities of production and maintenance hourly employees, ensuring a safe working environment, and promoting a culture of excellence in all aspects of plant operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and maintenance hourly employees to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Enforce company safety policies and procedures, as well as MSHA and OSHA regulations, to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Direct and coordinate daily activities of employees, providing oversight to safety, quality control, plant efficiencies, and preventative maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the SHE department and company officials to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Work closely with salespeople and customers to ensure that area products meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Implement cost-saving programs and continuous improvement activities to reduce costs and improve operating efficiency.
  • Participate in operations short and long-range business planning.
  • Attend daily production meetings to discuss plant operations and address any issues.
  • Participate in plant inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • High school diploma required; BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in processing and maintenance; one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of modern principles and practices of supervising production employees, as well as a plant operation.
  • Ability to be hands-on and perform repair work when necessary.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to motivate and reward employees, develop and establish performance measurements for the department, and analyze and solve business problems.

Working Conditions

The Maintenance Supervisor will work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment that requires complex technical information and decision-making. The position will involve working in an office and outside in the quarry or plant, with occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The employee must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and travel up to 10% of the time.
