Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Sexual and Gender Health

Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States University of Minnesota Full time
About the Fellowship

The Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking highly qualified postdoctoral fellows to join our vibrant team of faculty and researchers for a two-year program beginning Fall 2024.

Research and Clinical Opportunities

We offer opportunities for either a clinical/research fellowship or a clinical fellowship in our three areas of clinical care: relationship and sex therapy, compulsive sexual behavior, and transgender health.

Candidates should clearly specify their preference for type (clinical/research or clinical) and area (relationship and sex therapy, compulsive sexual behavior, and transgender health) of fellowship in their application.

We cater the fellowship to the fellow's interest for skill development, so fellows who have an interest in more than one area of clinical care may have opportunities for engagement across care.

About the Department

The Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health is one of the largest clinical, teaching, and research institutions in the world specializing in human sexuality.

We have a strong research agenda in sexual aggression and compulsive sexual behavior, transgender health, relationship and sex therapy, and women's sexual health supported by millions of dollars in state and federal funding.

We have developed innovative and effective treatment approaches to sexual problems.

The ISGH has led the way nationally and internationally in crucial, often controversial, sexual and gender issues and has worked with local, national, and international health agencies to advance public health policies promoting sexual and gender health.

Benefits and Opportunities

The fellowship includes a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a professional travel stipend.

Fellows will have the opportunity to develop the capacity to write grant applications to support their scholarly work.

Additionally, all fellows have opportunities to engage in teaching through our educational programming.

The M Health Fairview Sexual and Gender Health Clinic serves a diverse group of patients, including children, adolescents, minorities, disabled individuals, and clients with chronic medical or mental health problems.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology or Family/Couples Therapy and interest in and/or experience with sexual and/or gender-related therapy.

Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. or Psy.D. prior to starting in this fellowship program.
