Job Summary

New Story In-District Services is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Therapist to join our team. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will work closely with teachers, case managers, and paraprofessionals to provide targeted support and professional development to students with various diagnoses.

This full-time, 10-month position is based in Harrisonburg, VA and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct and indirect behavioral services to students and/or teachers and classroom support personnel
  • Supervising assigned RBTs, BTs, and other classroom leaders and/or support personnel
  • Oversight for one or multiple student's ABA programs in the classroom
  • Assessing students to identify learning and program needs
  • Developing initial programming and ongoing modification to programs as needed
  • Providing direct intervention, instruction, and supervision to classroom support personnel
  • Monitoring program and progress and providing daily progress reporting and data analysis
  • Providing daily progress notes for school and families
  • Creating functional behavior assessments and related behavior intervention plans
  • Providing consultation to teachers and other behavior support or classroom support personnel
  • Assisting with development of behavior strategies and IEP goals
  • Providing instruction for Response to Intervention (RTI)
  • Providing Behavioral Skills Training (BST) for classroom staff on identified interventions

Qualifications include:

  • Master's degree in psychology, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or other related fields of study
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • 2 years' experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with various special needs
