Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse in the Oncology and Infusion department plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality, compassionate care for patients. This position requires the application of the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The RN will also be responsible for delegating, supervising, and documenting care and education for both patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and coordinate comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients.
  • Effectively communicate essential patient information to the healthcare team.
  • Engage in problem-solving to address any discrepancies from patient care goals.
  • Ensure the execution of solutions to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Possess clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop effective nursing care plans.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform a wide range of professional nursing services.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current RN licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing is mandatory.
  • IBCLC certification as a Lactation Consultant must be obtained within the first year of employment and maintained thereafter.
  • Preferred experience of 1-2 years as a Lactation Consultant/Specialist.
