Position Overview:
The Oncology RN plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing treatment. This position requires a comprehensive approach utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will oversee, delegate, and document care while providing education to patients and their families. Effective communication with the healthcare team is essential to ensure that patient information is shared accurately and timely.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Licensure: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Experience: Clinical expertise and analytical skills are necessary for developing effective nursing care plans.
- Skills: Ability to perform a diverse range of professional nursing services and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Certifications:
- Current licensure from the Michigan State Board of Nursing is required.
- IBCLC certification as a Lactation Consultant must be obtained within the first year of employment and maintained thereafter.
- Preferred experience includes one to two years as a Lactation Consultant/Specialist.
- Additional responsibilities related to PICC line management may apply.
