Job Summary:

The Director of Operations will lead the engineering, planning, start-up, and construction phases of a self-performing construction project. This individual will bring leadership, direction, and oversight to ensure the project's success.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety:

The Director will establish a culture of safety within the company and projects, prioritizing the health and welfare of employees.


Leadership:

They will develop professional and respectful leaders and managers who will deploy the project management system, establishing a leadership position in the market and facilitating excellence in everything we do.


High-Performing Teams:

The Director will hire and facilitate the development of individuals who possess the required leadership and competency to produce a high-performing outcome for the company.


Quality Product:

They will establish and lead a culture and program that produces a high-quality and performing power plant, honoring quality standards, engineering standards, and quality methods.


Customer Service:

The Director will establish a cohesive, connected, and collaborative relationship with clients, serving them in a manner that promotes a trusting relationship and follows through with commitments on time and budget.


On-Time Execution:

They will establish the project management program to ensure schedules are used as a tool to proactively manage the on-time execution of projects.


Operational Excellence:

The Director will execute the business strategy in a more consistent, predictable, and reliable manner than the competition, creating value-add through operational excellence.


Fiscal Responsibility:

They will establish and lead the project management program to produce a predictable fiscal outcome for the company, employing fundamental budgeting, planning, monitoring, and forecasting processes.


Talent Development:

The Director will intentionally lead and develop others to lead the development of our greatest asset: our people, ensuring development through regular and consistent coaching and feedback.


Requirements:

  • 12+ years of construction experience and a proven construction background.
  • 8+ years of solar construction project experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Demonstrated experience in Construction Management and leadership of people.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Must have a valid current driver's license, eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must have a valid current passport for travel (including air travel) outside the U.S.
  • Extensive travel required.
