Job Summary

As a Nursing Department Manager, you will be responsible for managing the resources and daily activities of a nursing department, ensuring that environmental factors support high standards of patient care. You will assist in the training and development of new and existing staff members, creating an environment that fosters learning and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the resources and daily activities of a nursing department
  • Assist in the training and development of new and existing staff members
  • Create an environment that fosters learning and growth
  • Coordinate the activities of the unit during a particular shift
  • Direct, organize, and assign work to the nursing staff
  • Provide patient care as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and one (1) year of leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice
  • American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart (ACLS), and American Heart (PALS) certifications

Please note that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
