Position Title: Mixologist at The Office Bar

Department: Food + Beverage

Reports to: Food + Beverage Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Overview: The role of a Mixologist involves a comprehensive understanding of cocktail preparation and the fundamentals of mixology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the guest experience by providing tailored beverage recommendations.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of various beverages, including spirits and wines.
  • Serve patrons efficiently and courteously, adhering to established service protocols.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cocktail crafting as per the training received from Epicurean Hotel.
  • Ensure the availability of essential tools for shift operations, including writing instruments and bar equipment.
  • Exhibit the ability to pair wines with culinary offerings.
  • Understand that the bar serves a complete menu and be prepared to accommodate full-course or shared dining experiences.
  • Assist with food service when necessary, including the ability to carry warm or hot dishes.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, including preparation times, ingredients, sauces, allergens, and accompaniments.
  • Manage tab security and process payments for food and beverages served.
  • Adhere to responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Stay informed about daily specials, including soups, drinks, and low-stock items.
  • Effectively manage the bar station and communicate with management regarding any issues that may impact guest satisfaction.
  • Follow cash handling protocols and be prepared to explain any discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the bar area, following the established daily checklist.
  • Clean glassware, utensils, and bar equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure exceptional service to all guests, consistently aligning with the service standards of Epicurean Hotels and Mainsail Lodging & Development.

Essential Functions:

Perform additional duties as requested by management to enhance guest service.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in hospitality is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant setting, preferably in the Southwest Florida region.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using technology, such as tablets and iPads.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Capability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Corrected vision within normal range.
  • Willingness to work long hours as required.

Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to make sound judgments quickly.
  • Manage multiple tasks while progressing towards deadlines.
  • Work independently and provide direction to others when necessary.
  • Effectively interact with diverse personalities within the workplace and community.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
