In this role, you will engage with various teams to enhance existing products and introduce innovative services to MISO Energy Markets. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of over 45 million people by ensuring reliable electricity supply.

Core Responsibilities:
As the Energy Market Systems Specialist, you will:

  • Ensure the functionality of MISO's Energy and Ancillary Services market system software, meeting operational needs.
  • Investigate and resolve market outcomes and customer inquiries.
  • Lead essential engineering initiatives related to the Energy and Ancillary Services Market, including the development of new system enhancements and market products.

Project Involvement:
Your role will involve participation in significant projects such as:

  • Redesigning the Day Ahead & Real Time Market Clearing Engine.
  • Implementing Multi-Configuration Resources and Distributed Energy Resources.
  • Addressing FERC Order 881 on Ambient Adjusted Rating.

Success Metrics:
Within your first year, you will know you have succeeded if:

  • You can independently support the Energy Market System by addressing inquiries and testing software.
  • You have established strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate collaborative problem-solving.
  • You have initiated at least one process improvement project through creative thinking.

Qualifications:
We seek professionals with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering fields such as Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in utility operations, transmission, or real-time operations.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with market system applications, EMS applications, model development, software testing, or operational support is highly desirable.
