About the Role

MISO Energy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II/III to join our team in the Central U.S. As a key member of our Outage Coordination team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the grid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain power system models in EMS/PSSE for near-term and long-term analysis
  • Run power flow, contingency, and voltage/transient stability analyses to identify outage-driven congestions and mitigation options
  • Make decisions to approve, reschedule, or deny Outage works based on detailed engineering analysis and results
  • Coordinate outages with MISO's stakeholders on best practices and timeliness of outage planning
  • Collaborate with other MISO internal teams to ensure system reliability, resilience, and efficiency
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of power systems and transmission planning
