Ultrasound Sonographer Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Sonographer to join our team at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, Washington. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams on inpatients and ED patients, including limited vascular ultrasounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform urgent and emergent ultrasound exams, utilizing independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Record test results, prepare accurate preliminary reports, and update patient records for interpreting physicians.
  • Prepare, supply, and equip exam rooms to meet the needs of requested examinations and specific physician requirements.
  • Integrate previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to optimize exam performance.
  • Perform other duties consistent with caregiver's scope of practice, training, experience, and licensure/registration/certification.
Requirements:
  • Accredited School of Ultrasound Sonography required, or equivalent education and/or experience for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by the national registry through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • PACS/RIS knowledge required.
  • ARDMS registration.
  • OB/Gyn and AB experience/registry preferred.
  • Basic Life Support required upon hire.
