Cardiac Sonographer

PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, Washington is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. This is a Per Diem/Relief position, 0.00 FTE, working Day shifts. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $43.96 - $66.00.

We are looking for a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic and special procedures ultrasonography in accordance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical cardiology, acoustic imaging technology, and problem-solving skills to optimize the echocardiographic evaluation.

• Perform prescribed ultrasound procedures using a variety of equipment to get preliminary echocardiographic measurements.
• Be competent at the performance of adult echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and contrast studies.
• Follow department imaging protocols, acquire all echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings when necessary.
• Prepare, supply, and equip ultrasound rooms to meet specific cardiologist and physician requirements for procedures.

• Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required.
• CAAHEP accredited diagnostic ultrasound program preferred.
• A minimum six months full-time cardiac internship strongly preferred.
• One year experience as cardiac sonographer preferred.
• ARDMS or CCI eligibility, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at time of hire.
