Ultrasound Sonographer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Sonographer to join our team at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, Washington. As an Ultrasound Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Job Summary

This is a part-time, 0.80 FTE, variable position that will cover our team's vacations and other absences for the Ultrasound department. You will have the opportunity to work a diverse schedule, with your shifts planned in advance. Occasionally, you will also cover PTO at Peace Island Medical Center in Friday Harbor, Washington.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasound equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data.
  • Use independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathological findings, and to tailor the exam to individual patient needs.
  • Integrate previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to optimize the exam.
  • Prepare accurate preliminary reports and update patient records for interpreting physicians.
  • Perform other duties consistent with caregiver's scope of practice, training, experience, and licensure/registration/certification.
Requirements
  • Accredited School of Ultrasound Sonography required, or the equivalent education and/or experience for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by the national registry through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • PACS/RIS knowledge required.
  • ARDMS registration.
  • OB/Gyn and AB experience preferred.
