Position Overview

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time position as an Assistant Professor in Hematology within the Department of Medicine, specifically in the Division of Hematology/Oncology.

Role and Responsibilities

This position is non-tenure track and is designed to foster a collaborative relationship with local healthcare institutions for the purpose of enhancing patient care, education, and research initiatives.

The successful candidate will be actively involved in the educational mission of UTHSC, focusing on topics related to hemophilia and general hematology. This includes the training of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Depending on the applicant's interests, there are opportunities for leadership roles in education across various levels of medical training.

Clinical and Academic Duties

The position comprises approximately 80% clinical responsibilities and 20% academic duties at UTHSC. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting fellowship and residency training sessions
  • Delivering lectures and presentations
  • Providing clinical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • An MD or DO degree
  • ABIM certification in their specialty

Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
