Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology to join our faculty at the University of Memphis East. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate courses in the Counseling Psychology doctoral and Counseling masters programs, supervising Counseling Psychology doctoral student research, mentoring students, and participating in national professional organizations and university committees.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach graduate courses in the Counseling Psychology doctoral and Counseling masters programs.
  • Supervise Counseling Psychology doctoral student research.
  • Mentor students and participate in national professional organizations and university committees.
  • Maintain an active program of research that includes seeking external funding.
  • Specific teaching responsibilities will include courses in cognitive and personality assessment.
  • Additional courses could include research methods, diversity (gender, LGBTQ+, international, and multicultural counseling), clinical supervision, vocational psychology, or health psychology.
Requirements:
  • Earned doctoral degree (obtained by August 10, 2025) in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Evidence of an emerging (Assistant) or established (Associate) research agenda and publication record.
  • Psychology licensure or license eligibility in the State of Tennessee.
  • Evidence of funded grant awards or participation in funded projects.
  • Experience teaching graduate courses (in-person, online, or hybrid format).
  • Interest or experience in teaching cognitive and personality assessment.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision, including supervision of cognitive and personality assessment.
