About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our team at Airgas. As a key member of our Central Zone operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our fleet assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain 'Best Practices' in local shops, on-board, and train new hires.
  • Manage mechanics' continuous training and recertify mechanics as needed.
  • Coordinate and complete equipment audits throughout the year and maintain records for future reference.
  • Interact with vendors to cultivate and nourish business relationships for parts and operating component sourcing, refurb/repair diagnostics, and vendor-sponsored training and development.
  • Meet or exceed all Airgas safety standards, policies, and practices while developing and maintaining fleet 'Best Practices' in local shops.
  • Provide peripherals to coordinate local shop mechanic scheduling with Terminal Managers to maintain rolling stock and support customer service.
  • Assist in on-boarding and training of new hires and managing mechanics' tenured continuous training.
  • Support the Zone Director and Fleet Management Director and other Maintenance teams to achieve Airgas KPIs, goals, and objectives.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in fleet operations.
  • Ability to read and compose Excel spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other safety organization standards.
  • Knowledge of PPE and MSDS postings.
  • Proficiency in Trailer/Tractor PMI 001 (Dry) and 002 (Wet) and associated documentation.
  • Proficiency in cryogenic pumps-maintenance and repair.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in the industrial gases industry.
  • Class A CDL with Hazardous Material Endorsement.
