A Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as the main point of contact, delivering product and service information, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise with customer accounts efficiently and accurately. This role involves responding to customer interactions through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person visits, while also assisting with quote and order processing and other assigned office tasks.
Key Duties:
- Act as the first point of contact for customer communications via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
- Process quotes and orders as required
- Prepare and relay shop floor details for production
- Conduct proactive outbound sales calls as necessary
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a strong emphasis on sales activities
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly and effectively
- Interpret basic hardware templates to determine machining needs
- Comprehend and apply fire label standards
- Identify order-related issues and propose innovative solutions or corrections
- Collaborate closely with team members to foster a positive customer experience
- Complete orders accurately and on time to meet delivery schedules
- Assist with internal ordering processes for inventory replenishment and coordinate with vendors
- Support the 5S/lean initiative by maintaining an organized and clean workspace
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Work independently and collaboratively to promote a positive and engaging workplace
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times
- Undertake special projects and tasks as assigned
- Maintain a friendly and customer-oriented demeanor when greeting customers in person and over the phone, with the ability to manage difficult or upset customers while upholding professionalism
- Review personal and team work to ensure data entry accuracy
- Operate general office equipment proficiently
- Demonstrate proficiency in data entry, telephone etiquette, and payment processing for orders
- Perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data effectively

- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external customers, along with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

Ability to sit for extended periods, use fingers for typing and calculations, maintain adequate vision for small print and computer screens, and communicate effectively. Occasional light lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, kneeling, and reaching may be required. Travel between facilities may be necessary to fulfill core job responsibilities.
