Responsibilities

Working closely with our Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for:

  • Developing nursing care plans with guidance from the RN
  • Performing complete physical assessments and medical histories
  • Providing nursing care within your capacity and referring other medical problems to the appropriate physician
  • Ensuring prescribed medications are administered as instructed
  • Periodically evaluating patients' symptoms, reactions, and progress, and reporting problems to management
  • Securingly administering medication, taking precautions against drug hoarding and trafficking
  • Following industry and company accreditation policies
  • Documenting all detainee/inmate contacts and keeping medical records confidential
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • A current, unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state the facility is located
  • Two (2) years of direct work experience preferred
  • Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care
  • The ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing nursing diagnosis and providing appropriate follow-through treatment
  • A valid driver's license
