Job Title: Community Engagement Assistant

Job Summary:

The Community Engagement Assistant will provide exceptional customer service to clients of the Career and Resource Center, supporting them in accessing needed services. This role will work closely with the Career Center Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of the Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct service orientations, intake support, and linkage to various internal and external programs, ensuring clients receive the necessary resources and guidance.
  • Support clients in creating a personal email account, utilizing email, and sending documents electronically, promoting digital literacy and independence.
  • Schedule client appointments with career, financial, and housing staff, ensuring seamless coordination and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and service data, adhering to confidentiality and privacy guidelines.
  • Support the Career Center Coordinator with Center activities, participating in staff meetings and supervision, and collaborating with all staff in Community Programs.

Requirements:

  • High school or GED completion, with some college education preferred.
  • 6 months' experience in administrative support or reception services, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Multi-cultural competency and ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, promoting inclusivity and respect.
  • Friendly demeanor and excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise information to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, with proficiency in social media platforms.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment, including personal computers, photocopiers, and fax machines.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods, with occasional standing and walking.
  • Able to carry up to 10 pounds, with regular use of hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
