Position Summary:
This role is integral to the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The selected candidate will embody the values of International SOS while delivering the outlined services.
Key Responsibilities:
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) will deliver comprehensive anesthesiology services for a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to general surgery, orthopedic surgeries, and other specialized operations. Responsibilities include:
- Administering high-quality anesthesia care in line with the standards of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA).
- Providing primary coverage for patients in surgical intensive care, short stay units, and managing acute and chronic pain.
- Conducting diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography for both medical and surgical patients.
- Performing emergency airway management as required.
Consultative Services:
Engage with patients at their bedside or in outpatient settings, ensuring comprehensive care delivery.
Compliance and Training:
Maintain adherence to all educational and mandatory training requirements set forth by the VA.
Qualifications:
Essential Certifications:
- Unrestricted RN License in any state.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a CRNA.
Educational Background:
Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from an accredited institution.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods, with occasional bending and lifting of up to 30 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
Applicants must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents and are expected to relocate for the duration of the contract. Candidates must also pass the VA Public Trust Clearance.
Compensation:
Hourly compensation ranges from $200 to $250, based on various factors including experience and geographical market data.
