Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Accreditation and Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team at Medasource. This role will play a critical part in supporting Local Health Departments throughout the state in meeting public health transformation regulatory requirements and advancing public health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to Local Health Departments to support workforce development, improve foundational capabilities, enhance data infrastructure, and promote PHAB accreditation.
  • Assist Local Health Departments in identifying local stakeholders, analyzing public health and population data, setting public health priorities, and meeting requirements for accreditation.
  • Support state and local efforts in implementing public health transformation initiatives, including developing funding strategies and ensuring compliance with state statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Organize, direct, and implement specific studies, data collection instruments, focus groups, surveys, and other tools to assess the success of funded programs, strategies, and interventions.
  • Oversee or participate in partnerships with the Academy of Sciences, and develop evaluation tools to produce quantitative and qualitative data to validate program outcomes and determine healthcare needs and resources.
  • Assist in statewide training efforts, ensuring initiatives are focused on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness, and providing necessary training and skills to both local and Department of Public Health (DPH) staff.
  • Implement quality improvement, performance management, and workforce development efforts that lead to measurable impacts on the public health system in Kentucky.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with quality improvement resources and tools such as PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) and SMARTIE (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound, Inclusive, Equitable).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convene meetings and deliver presentations as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Knowledge of Kentucky's healthcare infrastructure and the importance of partnerships and coordination at the local level.
  • Basic understanding of Public Health Transformation in Kentucky.
  • Experience with survey tools such as REDCap and project management tools like Asana or similar platforms.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in public health, especially within the context of local health departments or state public health agencies.
  • Experience in accreditation processes, particularly related to PHAB.
  • Experience in data analysis, public health assessments, and developing health priorities.
