Prevea Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Physician Extender to join our team in a Podiatry setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering exceptional medical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies and laboratory results
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and self-care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
Requirements
- State of Wisconsin licensure
- Current CPR certification
- NATA-BOC certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Working Conditions
This role requires working in a combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings. May include Athletic Training outreach facilities and Physical Therapy clinics.
Physical Demands
This position requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 250 pounds as needed for patient transfer (with assistance or other staff). Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies. Requires vision correctable to 20/30 and hearing within normal range. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
