Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Orthopedic Medical Assistant to join our team at Prevea Health. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical providers in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist medical providers with patient care, including vital signs, patient backgrounds, and coordination of provider schedules and appointments.
  • Prepare patient charts, enter orders, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Provide patient education and instruction as directed within the scope of licensure or certification.
  • Assist with in-office procedures, prepare and administer medications, and maintain exam rooms and equipment to meet infection control standards.
  • Ensure adequate medical supplies for each patient room.
Requirements
  • Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, or graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • 160 hours of hands-on patient care experience.
  • Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment, instruments, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet changing demands.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems, computer, phone, and office equipment.
  • Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant in the state of WI.
  • Valid Practical Nursing license in the state of WI, or Licensed EMT or AEMT certification.
  • CPS/BLS Certification from an approved program.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, and noise. The successful candidate will be able to lift, carry, and push/pull equipment and supplies, and will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed.
