Behavioral Health Therapist

As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Intern with Hummingbird ABA Therapy, you will provide one-on-one behavioral interventions to children and adolescents between the ages of 2-21 years old who are diagnosed with a qualifying condition.
This internship position is designed for students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate coursework who require a full-time internship for their program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide face-to-face behavioral interventions and implement Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP).
- Offer support to parents, teachers, and community individuals.
- Deliver and model treatment interventions.
- Provide positive reinforcement to clients and families.
- Implement consequences for inappropriate actions as agreed upon.
- Communicate with peers and coworkers and exchange information important for achieving individual goals for clients.
- Establish and maintain professional boundaries with all clients and families.
- Provide culturally aware and competent service provision.
- Complete initial training curriculum as per company requirements and guidelines and state regulatory standards.
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with little notice dependent on client needs.

BHT Interns will be expected to work in a variety of settings with clients, including clinic, schools, homes, or community settings.
TRAVELThis position requires travel up to 10% of the time with clients being no more than 1 hour from staff's home, unless specifically agreed upon.
QUALIFICATIONS- Ability to read and write effectively.
- Ability to apply basic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use basic technology.
- Ability to follow schedules and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all client-related matters.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, and other employees.
