This is a full-time role with compensation aligned with experience and qualifications.

Your responsibilities will include conducting high-quality field testing and sampling to assess the environmental impact of potential pollutant sources, focusing primarily on factors influencing Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ), as well as pollutants in air and water.

You will be responsible for the proper use and maintenance of equipment such as air sampling monitors, sound level meters, light meters, and water sampling kits, ensuring accurate analysis of pollution sources.

As you progress, you will take on greater responsibilities in data analysis and the formulation of recommendations based on your findings, which are crucial to our operations. You will prepare and present comprehensive reports to both staff and clients and may also assist in designing and implementing programs for monitoring environmental hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

Fieldwork:

  • Understand the scope of work required.
  • Coordinate with clients to schedule site visits and access requirements.
  • Efficiently prepare, utilize, and maintain all necessary fieldwork equipment.
  • Arrive punctually and ready for all scheduled site activities.
  • Collect samples and document measurements according to the project scope.
  • Observe and record site conditions in compliance with internal protocols.
  • Gather relevant information to diagnose and address any site issues, escalating concerns as necessary.

Reporting:

  • Accurately document project aims, objectives, and methodologies.
  • Transcribe observations, measurements, and results from the site.
  • Conduct quality control checks on all recorded data.
  • Complete job registers with precision.
  • Log samples accurately and ensure timely submission to laboratories for analysis.
  • Draft reports for review by senior staff, allowing adequate time for feedback.

Broader Responsibilities:

In addition to your direct responsibilities, you will be expected to integrate effectively into the CETEC team, particularly in light of the current economic landscape.

  • Undertake projects assigned by senior staff to the best of your ability.
  • Seek additional tasks when your workload permits and request assistance when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to contribute proactively.
  • Maintain open communication with your manager for support and training.
  • Participate in team meetings regularly.
  • Submit timesheets and expenses accurately and promptly.
  • Present a professional appearance at all times.
  • Represent CETEC positively and adhere to internal guidelines.
  • Uphold CETEC's anti-discrimination policies in all interactions.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in a STEM field related to Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Facilities Management is required. Field experience is preferred for San Francisco and required for other locations.

We value exceptional attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and the ability to manage projects independently while being supported as needed.

CETEC is committed to equal opportunity employment, encouraging all qualified candidates to consider this opportunity.
