Job Summary

CareFlite is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ground Emergency Medical Technician to join our team. As a Ground Emergency Medical Technician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and transportation services in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as CareFlite policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on assigned vehicles and report any issues or required maintenance.
  • Assist flight crew members with loading and unloading patients for helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft transport.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and medical personnel to ensure smooth and safe transportation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive image of CareFlite.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care and services.
Requirements
  • Current State of Texas certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Current PHTLS Certificate or obtained within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Current Dallas City Ambulance Attendant Driver permit or obtained within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • 2 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services preferred.
Working Conditions

The Ground Emergency Medical Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens. The incumbent must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
