Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Baker and Pastry Specialist to join our team at Joe Muer. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weigh and measure ingredients to prepare dough and other pastry products
  • Mix and prepare fillings and glazes for pastries and cakes
  • Bake sourdough and other types of bread
  • Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking and presentation
  • Mix and prepare custom fillings for cakes and pies, such as chocolate ganache and caramel sauce
  • Prepare custom-made pastries based on customer preferences and dietary needs
  • Recommend new recipes and menu items to enhance our offerings and attract new customers

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Baker, Pastry Cook, or similar role
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, and dough sheeters
  • Understanding of food safety practices and regulations
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Team-oriented attitude with a customer-focused mindset
  • Certification from a culinary school is a plus
