Position Title: Design Project Manager

Department: Architectural Design

Core Focus: Project Management

Reports To: Principal Designer

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000

FLSA Status: Exempt

Role Summary: The Design Project Manager (DPM) is pivotal in overseeing the pre-construction phase of residential design initiatives. The DPM will maintain clear communication with clients, ensuring their expectations are met while striving to exceed project goals. Responsibilities include coordinating tasks to optimize workflow and supervising the design execution throughout the construction phase to guarantee client satisfaction and adherence to timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients during the pre-construction phase.
  • Conduct meetings with prospective clients to discuss project requirements, budget, and timelines.
  • Lead presentations showcasing architectural designs and modifications.
  • Manage project schedules and initial budget forecasts.
  • Regularly update clients on project progress and expectations.
  • Generate precise forecasts regarding revenue, profitability, and project expenses.
  • Facilitate the review process among subcontractors, suppliers, and the design team.
  • Produce architectural designs and drawings independently or collaboratively with design staff.

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design office setting.
  • Enrollment in AXP and pursuit of relevant certifications (NCIDQ, ARE, LEED, etc.).
  • Strong technology and visualization skills.
  • Exceptional design talent coupled with organizational capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction processes.
