Position Overview:

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to oversee the general accounting and financial operations within AHMC Healthcare. In this role, you will handle daily accounting responsibilities, which include executing financial transactions, updating general ledgers, and performing essential administrative tasks such as managing communications with vendors, healthcare professionals, and team members, while ensuring the prompt processing and settlement of pending invoices.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your duties will encompass the following:

  1. Support the monthly closing process in alignment with GAAP, which involves preparing journal entries and conducting accounting analyses.
  2. Daily maintenance and reconciliation of all cash accounts, which may involve processing check deposits and ensuring accurate accounting of payments received.
  3. Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
  4. Ensure proper approvals, accurate documentation of outstanding invoices, and timely payments to vendors providing services.
  5. Assist the accounts payable team as necessary to guarantee the swift processing of pending invoices.
  6. Provide assistance during interim and annual audits.
  7. Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial report packets for submission to the corporate office.
  8. Manage fixed assets, including equipment and vehicles, ensuring their proper condition.
  9. Oversee rental payments from tenants in medical office buildings, ensuring accurate invoicing and accounting practices.
  10. Assist with various projects and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience is required. Candidates should possess three to five years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a healthcare environment. Proficiency in business software applications, including Electronic Health Records systems for accounting, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets is essential. A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis is expected.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to interact effectively with management. The ideal candidate will be capable of working collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in all work produced.
