Job Title: Veteran's Services Specialist

Job Summary:

Amarillo College is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Veteran's Services Specialist to join our Enrollment Services team. As a School Certifying Official (SCO), you will play a critical role in certifying student enrollments to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and ensuring accurate and timely arrival of Military and Veteran education benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Certify enrollment of student veterans to the VA, including verifying that all courses are within the declared major program and reporting enrollment changes as required.
  • Assist with applications for educational benefits and certification of enrollment.
  • Assist with veteran record audits and compliance surveys with Texas Veteran's Commission (TVC) and VA.
  • Interpret and apply complex federal regulations, proposals, policies, and procedures, ensuring clear communication and compliance across students, staff, and administration.
  • Assist in training and developing VA student workers.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree (Preferred: Bachelor's Degree)
  • Experience in a professional office environment transcribing data with precision
  • Familiarity with VA processes, rules, and regulations
