Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at a reputable healthcare facility in Englewood, CO. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in the Operating Room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team in delivering direct and indirect care to patients in the Operating Room.
  • Provide quality healthcare through the development of a professional, compassionate, and responsive organizational climate.
  • Participate in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Assist in checking supplies, instruments, and equipment against preference cards and/or obtaining any missing items.
  • Responsible for scrubbing assigned procedures.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs in performing the operation and provide for a safe and sterile surgical environment.
  • Use supplies and suture judiciously.
  • Accurately handle all specimens.
  • Assist in cleaning the patient prior to applying surgical dressing.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the location, care, and operation of all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist in cleaning and restocking all the operating rooms.
  • Initiate and/or assist in updating preference cards.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Seek opportunities to improve department or interdepartmental processes.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to department staff, students, volunteers, and other departments, and contribute to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care.
  • Takes appropriate measures to ensure the safety of patients.
Requirements
  • Current surgical technologist certification.
  • BLS (AHA).
  • ACLS preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology - REQUIRED.
  • At least 1-year exp; 2-3 strongly preferred recent Surgical Technologist experience in an acute care setting.
  • Must have acute care experience in a hospital.
